Medlock Area Neighborhood Association, Inc. (MANA, Inc) – At a Glance

Quick History: MANA was formally incorporated in January 2004. The association has evolved from community participation and interest in such activities such as petitions for traffic calming measures, signage ordinances for nearby businesses, and neighborhood involvement at Medlock Elementary. MANA is officially a 501c (4) tax exempt business (dues are not tax deductible).

MANA Geography: Our newsletter is currently distributed to the area outlined in the box below. Recent boundary expansion requests have put the potential membership of approximately 900 homes but membership is open to all residents and business owners in the surrounding area. We also work in close collaboration with other community not-for-profits and associations such as The Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve and Clairmont Heights Civic Association (CHCA) as well as many other local groups.

MANA Mission:

·     Represent the neighborhood to the outside world

·     Catalyst for the discussion of neighborhood issues

·     Instrument for communicating issues to the residents and businesses

·     Foster, promote, and protect the civic and community interests of the residents of the Association

MANA Values: It is important to clarify that MANA has not been established as a “rules and regulations” homeowner’s association, but as a neighborhood association focused primarily on improving the overall quality and our voice on local and regional developments.

MANA Membership: To build on our successes and achieve our goals (many noted on reverse side) we need your membership and involvement! If you haven’t joined yet, please fill out a membership form to show your support. $20 voluntary dues are requested annually based on a June-July fiscal period.

Please be sure we have your e-mail as we send out monthly e-bulletins. A paper quarterly newsletter is also distributed.
